There are many luxury hotels one can get in Dubai. One of the finest property I had decided on for this trip was " Burjuman Arjaan by Rotana". It offers spacious rooms, swimming pool, all modern amenities and a place to cook particularly if you are travelling with young kids. Also its interconnected to the shopping mall, offering the grocery store just next to the hotel. A must consider for families.
Oasis Palm Boat cruise
A must visit is the Oasis Palm Boat cruise which is also offers Dinner at the Dubai Creek ( one of canals in Dubai). The Dubai creek cruise during the night offers amazing view of the city both new & Old.
The cruise main attraction is to see the city of lights & modern skyscrapers particularly from the open deck on the top of the cruise. Enroute, you will find places like Golden market, Spice market, Al Seef district & Heritage village among others. On top of it, there is an entertaining show on the cruise which adds the thrill of a musical evening with family & friends.

Dubai Gold Souk
In the city of gold, one cannot miss the Dubai Gold Souk located at Deira, Al Dhagaya. The gold souk has lot of traditional shops selling gold & silver ornaments with lot of branded as well as local players. A visit without buying something for the loved ones would be enormous miss. So do keep the extra budget for the same.
Burj Khalifa
Another must visit place is the Burj Khalifa located at Downtown Dubai. It is the tallest structure in the world. This skyscraper is a must visit to see the beauty of Dubai from the top. The elevator takes you the observation deck (140 floors) & one can say the view is mesmerizing on the this skyscraper (height of 2700+ feet).
The view from the top of Burj khalifa speaks for itself as it gives a glimpse of the whole city which is actually worth more than any gold of the world.
Dubai Aquarium & underwater zoo
Dubai Aquarium & underwater zoo is also located at Downtown Dubai and is one of the most popular places where you can see 140+ species of aquatic animals in the 10 million litre tank. Moreover the shows being offered of different aquatic animals is must watch for the families with kids. Some of the shows like Penguin Encounter, King Croc, otter are a must watch.
The Dubai Fountain
Another attraction at downtown is the "The Dubai Fountain" located at Burj lake - a musical, water & light fountain a must see in the evening for all. ( Starts at approx. 5.45 pm) . One can take a boat ride to see this captivating show too which is virtual delight for all photographers/ travelers.
Bollywood Park
Another famous place is the Bollywood Park in Dubai which offers 6 different zones inside it, showcasing Bollywood blockbuster based theme areas. Some of these are Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine(showcasing rural India), Royal Plaza( theatre ) , Bollywood film studios(showcasing making of the movies) & the Meal Junction(Fair theme based). Children would love to play with Jadoo (Krrish Indian Super Hero Movie), see Lagaan movies thrill ride, Ra.one show & many more rides to add on to one's excitement.
Legoland Dubai
Another exciting theme Park on the list of must visit is Legoland Dubai. This place is full on entertainment for the young ones and can surprise the adults too. It has 6 zones( Lego City, Adventure, Kingdoms, Miniland, Imagination & factory) spread over 3 million square feet to showcase 40 + rides & attractions which would remain with you for times to come. One needs to have dedicated day for this place so that ample time is there to enjoy all the rides. Some of the popular rides or places inside it was the Kingdom Adventure, Submarine Adventure, lego mindstrom robotics, drive a car at Legocity, see how Lego toys are made at the factory etc. to name a few.

Dubai Desert safari
Dubai trip is incomplete without the mention of the desert safari. There are various packages( morning / evening) which offer pick and drop from hotel & food at the desert camp with traditional dance show. Also one can enjoy camel ride, sand boarding, sand dune bashing, Quad bike, Dune buggy etc. at the camp site.
Also it's the most favorable place to click some of the most memorable pics in the backdrop of desert and sun. So keep the camera handy.
